James A. Pasternak, D.D.S.
Dr. Pasternak has provided the highest quality dental care since 1977. After graduating from the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry, He achieved the distinction of becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. This is an honor bestowed upon less than one-half of one percent of all dentists in the United States.
Dr. Pasternak Maintains professionals membership with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the San Fernando Valley Dental Society and the American College of Forensic Examiners.
Dr. Pasternak has a thirst of knowledge that enables him to provide the newest techniques of care. While the State of California requires dentist to take a minimum of 25 hours of continuing education courses every year to maintain licensure, he routinely attends well over 200 hours of courses every year. This commitment to continuous learning keeps the entire team on the leading edge of dentistry.
Dr. Pasternak has been actively involved in the Chatsworth community since he established the practice nearly forty years ago. He currently volunteers with several charitable organizations, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the National Spit Tobacco Education Program, and Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.
Dr. Pasternak is a lifetime member of the Chamber of Commerce and in the past has served as the Founding President of the Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth, a member of Local 105 of the Selective Service Board, a member of the Board of Director of the Chatsworth Business Improvement District.
In 2013 he was awarded Business of the Year by the North San Fernando Chamber of Commerce.
His hobbies include hiking, backpacking, skiing and cooking.
Allison S. Yen, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Allison Yen graduated from the University of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she graduated in the top 10 of her class, and was honored with many awards for academic excellence. Following her dental training, she completed a three-year post-graduate residency program in Periodontics at the University of Illinois, at Chicago. During her training, Dr. Yen also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in oral sciences from the University of Illinois where she conducted research in wound healing. She is trained to deliver oral conscious and intravenous (IV) sedation for patient comfort.
Dr. Yen is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Yen keeps up to date by attending many continuing educational classes, ensuring that her patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, playing volleyball and tennis, movies and time with her family.
Laura Charles Bowers
Laura is one of our caring dental hygienists, who earned her BS in Dental Hygiene from the USC School of Dentistry in 1999. She loves her job and helping her patients maintain their periodontal health. She has a son and a daughter, and her interests include skiing, hiking and all things outdoors. “When it comes to your oral health, as with all things in life,” Laura is fond of saying, “think positively and you can achieve anything you set your mind to doing!”
Diane
Diane and Dr. Pasternak have worked together since 2006. Diane began her dental career over 10 years ago as a registered dental assistant. Her current role is the front office manager. She enjoys helping and interacting with patients. Our patients and staff enjoy her bubbly, positive personality and radiant smile. Diane loves to travel, dine out and spend time relaxing. She values quality time with her two children.
Melanie
Melanie is one of our exceptional Registered Dental Hygienists. Mel, as she likes to be called, is truly talented and caring, helping our patients improve their periodontal health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from USC in 2005. She is kind, gentle, and listens to her patient’s needs. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family and friends.
